Persian Miniature Analysis

Persian miniature.

This artwork uses its line and shape to construct an area of stability within the piece, which is the box. On the outside of the box the lines and shapes are active so to speak. The patterns are complex and add somewhat of a rougher texture. However inside of the box the nature appears to have a smoother, calmer tone and texture as compared to the nature outside. The color choice for the woman’s dress causes the readers attention to be drawn in past the chaotic outside and the color is very vivid. This in turn brings the reader in to focus on the less active more smooth part of the painting.
